Nicolette Vang
Program Director: Wraparound-Sacramento, JJPS, Community & ICBFS-Placer
Nicolette Vang is a Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist with nearly 10 years of experience providing community-based mental health services to children and adults in Sacramento, California. She joined Stanford Sierra Youth & Families (SSYAF) in July 2020 as a Clinical Program Manager in the Sacramento Wraparound program, advanced to the role of Clinical Practice Manager in October 2021, and in November 2022 was promoted to Associate Program Director of Wraparound Programs. Since then, she has been instrumental in supporting the addition of internal clinicians to Wraparound teams and has taken on leadership and the development of program expansion and impact growth, including the Managed Care Kaiser Wraparound and TBS programs as well as Juvenile Justice Prevention Services (JJPS) Wraparound. In her current role as Program Director, Nicolette oversees the Sacramento Wraparound and JJPS Wraparound programs along with the expansion of Wraparound services to include AAP/Community Wraparound and Placer County Intensive Community Based Family Services (ICBFS).
Nicolette received her Bachelor of Arts as a double major in Psychology and Biological Anthropology from the University of California, Santa Barbara and shortly after received her Master of Arts degree in Marital and Family Therapy from Alliant International University. Nicolette was licensed in 2020, is trained in Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT) and has been providing clinical supervision since 2022. She is passionate about supporting the growth and development of clinical student interns, trainees, and BBS associates in the licensing process.
Nicolette is very dedicated to leading teams in serving and empowering youth and families, especially those impacted by systems involvement. She values progress that is rooted in collaboration, cultural humility, and strengths-based practice, where every challenge is also an opportunity for discovery and resilience. As a leader, she strives to foster a team culture that mirrors these same principles—empowering staff to learn, adapt, and support with resourcefulness, authenticity and purpose. Outside of work, Nicolette enjoys producing music/singing, dancing, and spending quality time with her husband and two children.
