Mental Health Programs

Overview

Community Based Family Services

Stanford Sierra Youth & Families provides Community Based Family Services (CBFS). The program offers a wide array of specialized mental/behavioral health services and supports and is designed to provide a “safety-net” for families with children and youth (ages 0-21) who are struggling at home, school, or in the community. The program is unique in that clinicians partner with youth and their families to assess and determine an individualized plan for services and supports that focuses on family strengths and the overall emotional, behavioral health and well-being of youth.

Overview

Flexible Integrated Treatment
We Empower Youth to Reach their Potential

Flexible Integrated Treatment (FIT) provides a “safety-net” for our community’s youth and their families who require mental health interventions and/or support.  Our program is unique in that our mental health clinicians partner with youth and their caregivers to assess and determine an individualized plan for services and supports that focuses on family strengths and the overall emotional and behavioral health and well-being of youth. Services are culturally competent, flexible, family driven and can be provided in the home, school, and community settings. The location, frequency, duration, and intensity of services and supports can vary over time, depending on the individual needs of each family. The goals of the program are to build upon the youth’s strengths and successes, increase resiliency, reinforce family connections, and improve overall mental and behavioral health.

Overview

School Based Services

Our school services, available statewide, provide therapeutic interventions to students both in-person and in virtual environments. We provide individual and group services and consult with teaching staff on managing difficult behaviors in the classroom setting.

Overview

Therapeutic Behavioral Services

We provide effective, targeted behavioral interventions for youth with intense behaviors that are putting them at risk of losing their current placement or being hospitalized. Our behavior analysts identify triggers, teach the youth coping strategies, and support caregivers to manage the behaviors so that the youth is able to remain in their home setting.

WHAT SERVICES LOOK LIKE:
  • Together, staff and families create and implement a short-term plan, to help the youth reduce risky behaviors while increasing coping skills and replacement behaviors.
  • Our Behavior Analysts provide one-on-one, flexible, conveniently scheduled home or community visits at the times in which challenging behaviors occur.
  • In addition we work with caregivers to implement de-escalation skills, increase positive communication to help behaviors become more manageable and allow for continued success when transitioning out of TBS services.
