Black History Month - February 2023

We invite you to join us in celebrating Black History Month. Established in 1926 by Carter G. Woodson as Negro History week, Black History Month is a time to explore the Black experience, celebrating and honoring the rich culture and many achievements of Black people. Each year a theme is selected that reflects changes in how people of African descent in the United States have viewed themselves, the influence of social movements on racial ideologies, and the aspirations of the Black community. This year’s theme, Black Resistance is an acknowledgement of all the ways Black people have and continue to resist the many forms of oppression.

Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month - April 2023

We explore Asian Pacific Islander American Heritage Month, a time to celebrate the diverse histories, cultures, and contributions of generations of Asian American and Pacific Islanders to our communities. First acknowledged as Asian Pacific Heritage week in the 1977, the week was expanded to a month in 1990. Hinged on the new opportunities and adaptability demonstrated by the COVID-19 pandemic, this year’s theme “Advancing Leaders Through Opportunity” is a call for organization to address the systemic barriers to professional progression and create space for advancement opportunities.
