Description

The Approval Specialist is responsible for certifying Resource Family homes to Stanford Sierra Youth & Families standard; governed by California Code Title 22, Division 6 and California Children’s Alliance. This position is also responsible for maintaining certification updates and status in Resource Family files and updating expired information. Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the agency.   

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Human Services or related field
• College units in Human Services or related field is preferred but not essential
• Experience in customer service

• Excellent organizational and detail oriented skills
•  Excellent customer service skills
• Ability to prioritize and work under pressure
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing
• Ability to identify problem areas and diplomatically resolve them
• Committed to permanent placement of “special needs children” in quality family homes
• Ability to work independently and be self-motivated
• Willingness to work flexible hours
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Fulfillment of TB test, background check clearance, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
• Valid California driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, can maintain a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier
• Must provide and operate a registered, properly insured automobile

Salary

Hiring Range: $17.00 – $20.50 hourly
