The Clinician provides community based, comprehensive, strength-based, culturally competent, trauma informed, flexible, effective, quality mental health services and supports to eligible at-risk children, youth, and families. The Clinician provides services in accordance with Managed Care and Family Centered Practice principles, including family voice and choice provided in collaboration with those individuals and agencies involved with the child or youth. Supports the Mission, Vision, and Values of the agency.

Education & Experience:

  • A Master’s degree in Social Work, Psychology, or Counseling;
  • For Clinician I: Registered with the CA-Board of Behavioral Sciences as an Associate Social Worker (ASW), Associate Marriage and Family Therapist (AMFT), or Associate Professional Clinical Counselor (APCC); and
  • Experience providing services to youth
  • For Clinician II: Licensed with the CA-Board of Behavioral Sciences as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), or Licensed Professional Clinical Counselor (LPCC); and
  • Experience providing services to youth

Essential Job Functions:

  • Provides comprehensive, strength-based, culturally competent, flexible, effective, quality mental health services, including psychotherapeutic interventions, to eligible at-risk children, youth, and families.
  • Provides services to children and youth who may be  involved in the child welfare and Juvenile Justice systems meeting all Managed Care requirements as listed in program scope
  • Provides services to assigned children, youth, and families in the home, office, school, or other community based settings
  • Able to provide or arrange for safe transportation for youth and families to services as needed
  • Possesses specific cultural competence to work with and outreach to culturally diverse populations and communities
  • Ensures all clinical records are current and accurate, meeting organization and Managed Care timelines for submission
  • Provides and documents all eligible services provided, including but not limited to assessment, plan development, individual therapy, family therapy, group therapy, collateral, rehabilitation, case management, CFTs, and crisis intervention
  • Completes Intake, Core Assessment, Mid-Assessment, Discharge packets and for assigned clients meeting expected timelines
  • Accurately documents all billable and non-billable services provided, meeting expected timelines
  • Provides referrals and resources to children, adults and families, and acts as a liaison between child/family, assigned treatment team and external organizations
  • Utilizes Evidence Based Practices whenever possible, if clinically indicated
  • Ensures every assigned family has an individualized safety plan that maximizes the use of natural supports and community based resources
  • Attends all internal psychiatric appointments with assigned youth and caregivers as scheduled
  • Participates in the agency 24 hour family support on-call program
  • Participates in utilization, accreditation, peer review process as assigned
  • Responsible for meeting all outcomes as documented in Employee Development Plan
  • Works collaboratively with all internal programs, departments, and staff to provide support as needed
  • Maintains positive relationships with system partners, families and providers
  • Attends all staff meetings, clinical Supervision, and consultation meetings as scheduled
  • Participates in clinical supervision per BBS and contract requirements

Skills:

  • Prepared to work independently with flexible hours that may include evenings, weekend and holidays
  • Proven documentation skills and intermediate level computer skills including all MS Office programs
  • Adhere to all confidentiality requirements
  • Verbal and written ability to communicate effectively with colleagues, community partners, consumers and all levels of management
  • Ability to multi-task and prioritize projects and assignments effectively
  • Ability to work cooperatively in a team environment within department and agency wide
  • Ability to work in a mobile, fast paced environment.
  • Ability to use a laptop computer
  • Fulfillment of TB test, background check clearance, and any other mandatory State/Federal requirements
  • Valid California driver’s license, proof of automobile insurance, can maintain a driving record acceptable to the agency’s insurance carrier
  • Must provide and operate a registered, properly insured automobile
  • Bilingual preferred

Salary:

Clinician I: $58,240 – $62,168 annually

Clinician II: $63,000 – $66,900 annually
