Crystal Johnson serves as the Director of Yolo Programs at Stanford Sierra Youth & Families, bringing a deep commitment to supporting individuals, youth, and families impacted by relational violence. She is a Licensed Independent Clinical Social Worker and holds a Master of Social Work from Boston College.

Prior to her current role, Crystal was the Executive Director of a domestic violence agency in the greater Boston area, where she led efforts to break the cycle of teen dating and domestic violence through intervention, prevention, and education. Over the course of her career, she has worked in a variety of settings including schools, violence prevention organizations, community-based nonprofits, and outpatient mental health clinics providing services to diverse individuals and communities.

Crystal’s approach is grounded in trauma-informed, empowerment-based practices that center the strengths and resilience of the people she serves. In addition to her direct service work, she has provided consultation and training to numerous agencies on topics including, Recognizing and Responding to Domestic Violence in Health Care Settings, Promoting Resilience and Healing in Children, Childhood Exposure to Violence, and Supporting Children Who Have Experienced Trauma.

She is a passionate advocate for preventing and addressing domestic and teen dating violence, with a belief that lasting change is possible through a combination of direct support, preventative programming, and community education. Having recently returned to her roots in Northern California after living in the Boston area since 2016, Crystal enjoys exploring new restaurants and staying active through hiking, golfing, tennis, and volleyball.
