The Housing Navigator Coordinator has personal experience participating in the system of care as a consumer and/or as a parent/caregiver, and has the skills, training, and experience to coordinate and promote permanent housing opportunities for individuals and families at risk of homelessness within the Flexible Integrated Treatment Program. Supports the Mission, Vision and Values of the agency.

Qualifications

  • Experience as a consumer and/or parent/caregiver of a child having previously received services within the public systems, including: mental health, child welfare, or juvenile justice
  • Basic knowledge of Public Mental/Child Welfare/Juvenile Justice systems, and the ability to advocate on behalf of the clients in navigating and negotiating those systems
  • Knowledge of housing resources, subsidy programs, and the Continuum of Care
  • Experience working with individuals and families who have been at risk or experiencing homelessness is strongly preferred
  • Previous experience with advocacy, outreach and community resources strongly preferred
  • Ability to manage time effectively
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Ability to work in a mobile, fast paced environment
  • Ability to adhere to all confidentiality requirements
  • Self-directed, effective in problem solving and managing multiple demands and objectives
  • Sensitive to multicultural needs
  • Knowledge of effective business/professional contact techniques
  • Familiarity of current housing market information, housing trends and available resources

Salary

Hiring Range: $21.63 – $24.16 hourly
